After the wonderful bike tour in 2018, I had set myself a new goal for 2019. Cycle to the northernmost point of Europe, the North Cape. My route led me on 3500 km through Norway, Sweden, Denmark and Germany. Besides the really beautiful nature of Scandinavia, I also met many interesting people on my journey. At night I camped in the open nature and during the day I did a some hiking and visited interesting place.
In spring 2018 I had the opportunity to experience the west coast of the USA for 3 months. During this time I lived with various American families and was fully integrated into the American lifestyle.
The summer of 2018 was very dry in Germany, resulting in frequent forest fires. My firefighting colleagues and I were also called out to fight the biggest forest fire this summer. For hours we successfully tried to protect a number of small villages and to control the rapidly spreading fire.
My father and I used the beautiful summer in 2017 to make a longer bicycle tour. We started in Tallin, Estonia and rode smoothly along the Baltic Sea coast. On about 2500 km we rode through beautiful landscapes, learned a lot about the countries and its people and crossed Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland and finally ended up near Berlin again.
